2.
Bluetooth that does not connect

it exists: Occurs when the pairing does not work correctly.
3.
Printer that won’t scan documents straight to
the computer or at all

connecting cord, which makes it harder on customers
4.
Pens that don’t work
Why
it exists: they get used a lot or are old when taken out of the package
5.

alcohol
Why
it exists: being underage and not being able drink makes my bill smaller
and workers notice so they don’t put in as much effort because they feel their
tip will be smaller
6.
Door-to-door salesman
Why
it exists: makes sales for companies and make their product or service
known
7.

8.
Uneven sidewalks on campus
Why
it exists: the ground shifts and trees grow
9.
Buying makeup that has already been used
Why
it exists: people like to pump out the make up or test the color before

10.
Not being able to talk representatives from
large companies like Apple
Why
it exists: there are so many people calling in at once because of the large
customer base
11.
When there is dried sushi on the sushi boat from
the previous person
Why
it exists: restaurants are busy, so they don’t take as much time cleaning
as they should
12.
Buy groceries at Publix and they are expired
Why
it exists: there is a lot of inventory to go through and employees make
mistakes
13.
Bank lines are long
Why
it exists: they are under staffed and the process takes a considerable amount
of time
14.
Dog owners that don’t clean up after their dog at
apartment complexes
Why
it exists: owners don’t have time or just don’t want to pick it up
15.
Cold call centers
Why

Why
it exists: the product is delicate and used every day. Also, the company
makes more money if customers are buying new products.
18.
People standing in the middle of an aisle at a
store
Why
it exists: people aren’t courteous. They could also be just in the middle
of thought and not thinking about where they are in the store
19.
Wanting to go to self-check-out but none of them
are open
Why
it exists: not enough workers to cover it or they are broken
20.
Noisy neighbors
Why it
exists: The walls and floors at the apartment complex do not have enough
sound proofing
Reflection:
I tried
to focus on my day-to-day tasks and find what bothered me. I found it very
difficult to find and describe what bugged me for this assignment. Breaking down
the issue of why it existed further challenged me because I have never looked
at it that way.
Although, I didn’t write any of the same bugs as you did I caught myself reading your post while thinking, “OMG, I hate that too!” Your number 14 bug, is something I absolutely cannot stand. The apartment complex I live in allows pets, and its required for their owners to clean up after them, but of course this isn’t the case. I have managed to step in dog poop twice this year and each time I go and complain to management and they do nothing. I refuse to believe that owners don’t have time to pick up their dog’s mess, but I do think that they just flat out don’t want to pick it up. I also don’t think apartment complexes are strict enough with their rules when it comes to cleaning up after your dogs. I really enjoyed reading your list of bugs. Great job!

ReplyDeleteI can definitely relate with #5 when it comes to service at restaurants, but my service was poor due to my casual-dress. The waitress was courteous and constantly checking in on tables where people were dressed extremely nice, but whenever she came around to my table, she was snobby and acted as if I was inconveniencing her. I'm assuming she must've thought I didn't have much money, and I guess she will never know because I left her a poor tip. On the other hand, I also struggled with explaining why the bug exists. At times during this assignment, I felt as though I was a bit "bratty" when I actually sat there and thought about the things that bug me and why. Either way, this assignment did a great job at putting things into perspective. I look forward to working with you this semester!
Hi Haley-
ReplyDeleteFirstly, I love the unique design style of your blog! It hasn't taken me long at all to find several bugs on your list that I can relate to. #17 is particularly annoying because Apple intentionally downgrades their batteries to make people buy more phones. My poor battery life is always the driving factor to make me get a new phone. I think that you have effectively pointed out a strong list of inconveniences.
