1)
Tenaciousness is a competency. What are the behaviors
that you have used (or developed) to keep up with the requirements of this
course?
·
I have kept a routine when keeping up with the workload of this
class and others, my internship, and of course family. I have really had to
work at my time management skills. I really do not want to be working on school
work on Friday nights during the summer.
2)
Tenaciousness is also about attitude. Talk about a moment or
two when you felt like "giving up." What pulled you through? Do you
feel like you've developed a tenacious attitude during the past two months?
What experience or experiences most contributed to this?
·
I felt like giving up many times when developing my app. The
most daunting task was recording myself for the pitch. I am not very good at
public speaking or organizing my thoughts for something to under 90 seconds. I
really felt like giving up then. I did it because I knew I had and it would
develop my skills.
·
I have had a more tenacious attitude with this class. I think I started
developing this attitude when Professor Pryor told us a girl was able to use
her pitch to land a job.
3)
Three tips. What are three tips you would offer next semester's student
about (1) fostering the skills that support tenacity and (2) developing the
'tenacious mindset' ?
· Be dedicated to the class and put in effort. This
class is very well rounded in developing many business skills.
·
DO NOT wait until the last minute. Your peers will likely be
able to notice.
·
Have a plan every week of when you want to complete tasks for
the class. Plans are essential for success in this class. Link a business plan
or model.

ReplyDeleteI think this is a great analysis of yourself. I believe that we all have wanted to give up at some point in this course, so you are doing a good job of hanging in there. I personally haven't gotten a good hang of time management, however. I would like to be at least two weeks ahead, but something always comes up. Keep it up, we are almost done!
PS. Great tips!
Hi Hayley,
ReplyDeleteI think that having a routine and using your time management skills is key in this class. I also hate having to work on school on a Friday after a long and hard week, so managing my time is crucial. I feel like we all have wanted to give up some point in this semester, but we have all kept pushing through. I think the 3 tips you offered are perfect for next semesters class. I have put so much effort and time into this class and it is clear that you have too. Great job and keep up the hard work!
